It is the season for deer and car accidents as one unlucky motorist found out.

On November 19th, Chattooga County Sherrifs Deputy Jason Burrage was traveling south on Mahan Rd. and came upon a Honda Pilot SUV pulled over on the shoulder of the road at the intersection of Mahan and Hwy 48. Office Burrage exited his patrol vehicle and spoke with the driver and his passenger, Michael and Sara Bumbalough.

Mr. Bumbalough stated that he was traveling east on Hwy 48 and just before the intersection a deer entered the roadway and struck the driver-side of the vehicle causing damage.

While the damage was significant to the vehicle, the Bumbaloughs were able to drive it from the scene.
