Lookout Mountain CASA is accepting end of year donations for its program.

The Court Appointed Special Advocate Program, or CASA, is made up of Volunteers who undergo training to become an advocate for children in the welfare program. After specialized training which includes 30 hours of classroom training and 10 hours of court observation, the trainees are sworn in as an officer of the court by a juvenile court judge. CASA volunteers stay involved in a case until the child’s case is permanently closed.

Making a difference in the life of child. That is what our advocates do, every day. Their work is not easy. They often listen to stories of abuse and neglect, from children as young as five years old. Yet somehow, they find the way to carefully listen, realizing that sometimes they are the only voice for that child during juvenile court proceedings. The importance of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is immeasurable. Your contributions help us help them. Thank you for giving to CASA.
