A bombing in downtown Nashville, Tennessee interrupted cell service as far away as Northwest Georgia on Christmas Day.
A recreational vehicle parked in the deserted streets blared a recorded warning that a bomb would detonate in 15 minutes… and it exploded at around 6:30 a.m.
AT&T said the affected building is the central office of a telephone exchange, with network equipment in it. Some Northwest Georgia residents have reported their AT&T cell service went out after the blast in Nashville.
Since Friday, the company said they made “significant progress” in their restoration efforts overnight including restoring power to the four floors of the building. On Sunday, AT&T said that they expected to have service completely restored by the end of the day.
