Numbers released recently from a recent report from the US Department of Commerce Bureau of Economic Analysis show that Chattooga County’s per capita income rose modestly over the past year.

According to the report Chattooga County residents had a per capita personal income of $31,557 which was up 1.9% from the previous year. In 2018, the  per capita income was $30,030.  Chattooga County saw a large improvement in county-by-county rankings over the previous year.  In 2018. Chattooga County was ranked 137 out of 159 counties in per capital income; the 2019 numbers place Chattooga County at 126.

Chattooga’s per capita income is well below the state average of $48,236 and even further below the national average of $52,490.
