
Early voting ended yesterday for the January 5th election.
Shortly before lunch yesterday, New Years Eve, roughly 30% of registered voters in Chattooga County have cast their votes in the run-off election. Early voting brought in 3,278 voters and 1,279 absentee votes had been cast by mail ballots. Chattooga County has 15, 128 registered voters. Election Day is January 5th and voters can then vote at their normal precincts. The highly publicized run-off election is for two Senate seats. Incumbent Republicans Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are vying for their seats against Democratic contenders Rev. Ralphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff. Across Georgia 2.8 million people have cast their early or absentee votes; that is more than a 3rd (36.4%) of all registered voters. In the General Election in November, a record setting 4.9 million people voted in Georgia.
