Chattooga County has a new published author in its midst. Trion City School Music Teacher, Tina Lee has published a work of fiction.

The story, Joey: The Chimp Who Changed Us, was inspired by a real life Chimpanzee that Tina’s family had as a pet in the 1950s and 1960s.

Tina told WZQZ, “I have grown up hearing about Joey and playing in his “house” before it was torn down. In the last few years I thought “if this were a book people would think it was made up” To me, that’s the mark of a great story. Truth really is stranger than fiction! Although Joey is fiction, some of the stories about him in the book are true. What most endeared me to this novel is that it is set in my hometown of Arlington, GA.”

The novel is dedicated to Tina’s father who captivated her with “Joey Stories”. The book has been published under her given name, Nadolyn Lee and is available in paperback on Amazon. For those with e-readers it is also available on Kindle.
