At least two area churches decided to cancel services today because of an increased threat of COVID exposure in their congregations. 

According to Pastor Kyle Price at Old Path Baptist Church, “Due to the increased risk to our church family, we will not have service at the church (January 3rd) at Old Path Baptist Church. Lord willing, we plan to resume service next Sunday morning, January 10, 2021.” Price said that the church would have a Facebook Live service this morning at 10:30 AM.

Pastor Marshal Bryan at Lyerly United Methodist Church announced that services for today would be canceled.  Bryan said, “Due to significant increase in Covid 19 cases in the community and specifically within our church family we will NOT be having worship services (January 3rd).  Several church members are also under self-quarantine due to possible exposure during recent Christmas gatherings.”
