
Yesterday, two school board members were sworn in for a four-year term on the Chattooga Board of Education.
Newcomer B.J. Montgomery will be replacing John Agnew. Also, Eddie Elsberry, the chairman of the Chattooga County Board of Education was sworn in for another term.
Elsberry told WZQZ News on Tuesday, “I appreciate the support from the community to serve our school system for another 4 years. This year will be my 11th year on the BOE. I am proud of the work our students and teachers have done; they make the magic happen.”
Elsberry continued, “The year 2020 was a challenge for all. Education was no different. COVID has changed the way we do things in almost every aspect of life. Our administrators, teachers, food services, custodians, bus drivers, maintenance, para pros, parents, students and community have done so much work to make it a successful year and I cannot say thank you enough to them.”
