Both the Chattooga Indians and the Trion Bulldogs participated in their respective Individual Area Championship wrestling tournaments last week and this weekend.

The Chattooga Indians hosted the 7AA Traditional Area Tournament this past Thursday. 6 wrestlers from the Indians will travel to Macon this coming week to compete for the Individual Traditional Championship. Kendra , Heroch will compete in the Girls State Championship. Hector Velez, Matthew Gray, Gent Keith, Rowan Burdick, and Ty Veatch will also make the trip to Macon to compete. Both Burdick and Veatch were individual Area Champions in their weight classes.

The Trion Bulldogs traveled to Darlington this weekend to compete in the Class A Area 7 Individual Traditional Tournament. The Bulldogs placed 1st as a team and qualified all 14 wrestlers for the State Tournament being held this week. 7 of the Bulldogs came away as individual Area Champions. Alan Paiz, Daegen Vaughn, Seth Huskins, Crawford Lee, Bryce James, Cohen Blaschke, Gus Hames, Toby Maddux, Logan Eller, Linkin Farrar, Bladyn Bowman, Zach Sharp, Brantley Willbanks, and Kaleb “KP” Park all qualified.

Both teams will compete on February 9th and 10th in Macon.
