A Summerville man and woman were arrested in Floyd County after a traffic stop.
Joshua Benton Riley, 37, of Summerville, was arrested after being stopped for being on his cellphone while driving down Martha Berry Blvd.
Reports said that while conducting the traffic stop, officers located a firearm in his vehicle. It was then determined that Riley was a convicted felon and not allowed to possess the weapon.
Riley is charged with possession of firearm by a convicted felon and distracted hands free law violation.
A passenger in the car, Brittney Hope Ezell was also arrested. Ezell was found in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and a THC vape cartridge. She was charged with
possession of meth, possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule I controlled substance.
