Chattooga County Sherriff Deputies met with a Trion resident this week in regards to several stolen checks that resulted in $2800 being taken.

On Tuesday, Deputies met with Fondren Wright who stated that a former roommate had cashed several fraudulent checks on his Peach State Credit Union account. The Credit Union had made several attempts to contact Wright regarding an individual, Dax Moore, cashing checks on Wrights account. Wright later discovered that several checks had been taken from his checkbook. A total of 9 checks, all made out to Dax Moore had been cashed for a total of $2800.

Deputies contacted Peach State Credit Union to obtain copies of the checks and video of the person cashing the checks.
