Local school districts will be getting extra money that can be used to fund school nursing personnel and other nursing needs.

Last wee, Georgia State School Superintendent Richard Woods said, “Unfortunately, we also know that funding for school nursing services can be limited. These funds will help school districts expand school nursing staffing or resources for the benefit of all students.”

The state is handing out $5 million to school districts state-wide from CARES Act money the state has received.  Every school district in the state will get some of the money, with the minimum allotment being $15,000.

Both Trion City Schools and Chattooga County Schools will receive $15,000 each.
