There is one thing we all know for sure, Chattooga County has had its share of rain over the past several weeks.  Also, everyone knows that the cost of materials is going up.  Those two things combined are causing issues for Chattooga County’s government.

Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry told The Summerville News this week that roadwork on Tate Road is going to be costly because materials to repair the collapsed drainage tile have gone up.  The commissioner says that the county is looking into the possibility of purchasing PVC drainage tiles instead of metal tiles.  According to the commissioner, the tiles last longer – but they cost more.

Chattooga County Public Works Director Yancey Robinson says it will take about two weeks to complete the work that is currently underway on Tate Road.
