State Senator Chuck Hufstetler, who represents Floyd and a portion of Chattooga County in the Georgia Senate, is defending the new voting law that was recently signed by Governor Brian Kemp.

Hufstetler is known for bucking his own party and has, on several occasions called out the Georgia GOP on issues he disagrees with.

But the Senator from Rome says that he supports the new voting law and calls out Democrats for criticizing it.

Hufstetler stated:

“Compare (Georgia) to Colorado where MLB is moving the all star game to or compare us to President Biden’s home state (of Delaware). We have more opportunities to vote than anyone. While I am known for calling out my own party when they are wrong, this has been the biggest misrepresentation or falsehood by the Democratic party in a while. The new bill expands voting. Stacey Abrams was in New Jersey last week praising them for a new law that gives them 9 days of early voting. New York only has 9 days where Major League Baseball is headquartered. Maybe they should move away from those vote suppressors.”
