A new American Flag for the Chattooga County Courthouse is on the way, thanks to a fundraising effort by Barbara Reece, Trion VFW Post 6688, and Odell Anderson.

The fundraiser netted $1,069 for a new flag to be displayed at the Courthouse during patriotic events and holidays. The current flag was in disrepair and needed to be replaced. The new flag has been ordered through a company that the local VFW uses and Reece hopes it will be here in time for Memorial Day.

The new flag cost around $700 which includes shipping and placing grommets on the flag. The remaining money will be used to purchase smaller flags for other local municipalities.
