Reported stolen methadone lead to one very upset Chattooga County man this past Sunday.

Chattooga County Deputies met with Kenny Brown on Tinney Road in Trion on Sunday regarding some stolen medication.

Brown states that he has a black lockbox that contains 25 bottles of methadone that he keeps locked and with him at all times. Around 7pm Brown went to the store with the locked box in his truck. When he entered the store he placed his jacket over the box and exited the vehicle. He thought no more about the box until about 3am the following morning when he went out to retrieve the box.

The box containing the methadone was no longer in the truck nor in his residence. Brown stated that the only other person who knew about the box was a person who had worked for him for several years. While the truck was locked up, a broken glass that had tape on it, made it easy to gain access to the inside.

Deputies noted that Brown was very upset over the missing box as he was worried he would get sick if he didn’t get his medication that he has taken for the past 15 years.

A report was placed on file and the information forwarded to the Drug Agents with the Sheriffs Department.
