Hays State Prison in Trion has announced new salary increases for correctional officers and is currently hiring new officers.  The prison has opened a new recruiting office located at 777 Underwood Drive in Trion.  The recruitment office is open from 9 AM until 2 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 

New officers start out at $16.42 per hour and after six months receive a salary increase of $17.08 per hour.  After twelve months, new officers will receive $18.06 per hour.  Promotional opportunities are available for new hires after one year of employment.

Officers receive paid sick leave, annual and holiday leave and 100% paid training.
