Georgia’s Attorney General says that despite a global health pandemic and economic crisis, criminals are still trying to find ways to take advantage of Georgia residents, and now they are doing it with COVID-19 vaccine scams.

Attorney General Chris Carr says that scammers are using emails, calls and text messages on topics like getting COVID-19 vaccines and COVID testing for free, but then they steal people’s personal and banking information.

The attorney general said, “Vaccines are free in the state of Georgia so your viewers should not pay and should not feel compelled to pay or be pressured to pay,” says Carrs. “Look, criminals are always trying to stay ahead of the game and their whole goal is to separate you from your money or your personal information.”

Remember, if you get a text, email or phone call or someone comes to your door offering you some sort of COVID-related product or service you weren’t expecting, the best plan of actin is to close the door, hang up the phone or delete the email in order not to be taken advantage of.
