A Trion man reported theft of several bottles of medication to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.

The complainant told a responding deputy that he had black lock box with twenty-five bottles of liquid methadone.  The man told the deputy that he had the lock box in his vehicle and had covered the box with a jacket before he went into the store.  Later, around 3 AM, the complainant woke up and went to his truck to get the methadone and discovered the lock box was missing.

The complainant said that his wife takes the same medication and the only other person that knew about the medication was a man that works for him from time-to-time.  The complainant also told the officer that the back door of his truck could be opened with a screwdriver when it is locked.

The complainant asked for a report to be filed so he could take it to the doctor and get more medication.

The sheriff’s department filed the report and also passed the information along to drug agents with the sheriff’s department.
