A twenty-nine-year-old Summerville woman was arrested last week in Gordon County and charged with a felony. According to arrest records from the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Renee Michelle Wilson of a Spearmint Trail, Summerville address.  Wilson was charged with identity theft fraud.  Wilson allegedly used the identity of another person during a transaction.

In Georgia, identity fraud is a felony. This felony offense is punishable by a minimum of one year in prison, and up to 10 years in prison depending on the severity of the crime. Additionally, the court can also impose a fine of up to $100,000 and order the defendant to make restitution to the victim
