A dispute about a rental car deposit was referred to the Magistrate Court by Summerville Police Department.

Sasha N. McMichael reported that she had rented a car from Harveys South End Auto, and while in possession of the rented car had an accident that resulted in damage to the vehicle. When McMichael returned the rented vehicle the management at Harveys informed her that she would not be receiving the $100 deposit back due to the damage which made it unsafe to drive.

McMichael stated that she had insurance to cover the damage and that she felt she should receive the deposit back. Officers informed both parties that this was a civil matter and referred them over to the Magistrate Court.
