Chattooga County deputies responded to a domestic incident on Gore-Subligna Road on Memorial Day.

According to a report released this weeks, an anonymous 911-caller said that they could hear people arguing and thought that they heard a gunshot.

When deputies arrived at 1411 Gore-Subligna Road they found a man walking up the driveway.  The man told deputies that his brother and another man fighting over a woman and at some point, the other man had gotten a pistol out of his vehicle.  The other man had left the property, but deputies found him a short distance away at his home on Gore-Subligna Road.

The man who had retrieved the pistol told deputies that he was in fear of being injured and had gotten the gun out but never pointed it at anyone.

According to the report, “The firearm was recovered and placed into holding at the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office to be returned to the lawful owner at a later date. Due to all parties being intoxicated, the firearm was not returned on the night of the incident”.
