Northwest Georgia continues to enjoy low unemployment rates.  According to numbers released by the Georgia Department of Labor this week, Northwest Georgia’s unemployment rate for the month of April is now at 3.2%.

“We had another strong month in April,” said Commissioner of Labor Mark Butler. “We saw the unemployment rate decrease in every region and county, along with an over the month and over the year decrease in initial claims for nearly every region and country.”

Chattooga County has the highest unemployment rate in the region at 4.7%.  Walker County dropped from 2.9% to 2.8% for the month and Catoosa County has the lowest unemployment rate in the region at 2.4%.
