As 2021 brings a return to community activities across the area, the City of Summerville has announced the return of the “Celebrate Independence” event in observation of Independence Day.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, July 3 at the Chattooga County Ag Center located on Middle School Road in Summerville.

Gates will open at 6:30 PM and there will be vendors and food.  A free concert with Georgia-native country music singer Hunter Chastain will take place at 8 PM.  Chastain has gained a following after his release of “Blame My Last Name” in 2019.  His music has been described as “outlaw with a Southern rock sound.”  His current single is “Whiskey Dial.”

The grand finale for the evening will be the fireworks display, often described as “one of the best in North Georgia.”  The fireworks will take place starting at 10 PM.
