A former Chattooga County resident was arrested in Rome this week after police say he violently assaulted his live-in girlfriend.

Jamie Lee Cundiff III has a long history of crimes in Chattooga County dating back over a decade.  Cundiff, now a resident of Floyd County, was arrested after Floyd County Police say he placed his hands over the victim’s nose and mouth to a point she could not breathe. Reports added that the victim fell unconscious from her deprivation of oxygen.

The incident occurred back on June 15th at a home on Greenwood Avenue.

Cundiff is charged with aggravated assault, battery and aggravated stalking.
