A check with E-911 revealed that the registration was also suspended due to a prior DUI. Officers asked Kent to step out of the vehicle and they observed that Kent appeared to be behaving in a panicked fashion.

In the front pocket of Kents jeans was a small bag of a white, crushed up pills. Kent stated that they were Gabapentin and that he had a prescription for those. Officers did find a bottle of Gabapentin prescribed to Kent in the front seat. Also discovered was were several torch lighters, a cylinder shaped tube with a bulb at the end, with what looked like meth in it.
After placing Kent in handcuffs he began to state that he was supposed to do a buy for the Bartow County Sheriffs department the next day, then he later stated that after being pulled over the previous week by the GSP that they could have left the pipe in his vehicle when they searched it. Officers placed Kent under arrest and transported him to the Chattooga County Jail. The suspected meth was field tested at the jail and did come back as positive.
