One man is accused of making terroristic threats, among other charges, this week after getting into a verbal altercation with two different residents at the Maplewood Apartments in Summerville.
According to reports from the Chattooga County Sheriffs Office, a call was placed regarding a verbal domestic in progress at the Maplewood Apartments late on June 21st. Arriving on scene Deputies met with the complainant who stated that he had been resting on his couch in his apartment when he overhead a loud argument outside. The complainant stepped outside and observed a white male, yelling obscenities at two elderly females in a neighboring apartment. The aggressor was standing near a wooded area between the Maplewood Apartments and the Lake Wanda Reita Apartments.
The Complainant asked the aggressive man to quieten down due to the rules and regulations of the apartment complex, which angered him even more. At this point he began to aggressively move toward the other man while now shouting obscenities at him. When the complainant stated that if he didn’t quieten down, that he was going to have to call the law, the aggressor reportedly stated, “that he would get out, go get and gun, and come kill him.”
Complainant told Deputies that he did feel in fear for his life when the threats were made and the offender was banned from the property due to an earlier issue. The aggressor had left the property prior to Deputies arriving, however they were aware of him and his prior banning from the property. Deputies advised Complainant on Protection Order Procedures along with extra patrol for the area. This case is still active.
