Fire crews from multiple agencies battled an early morning blaze that engulfed an abandoned structure on Old Highway 27 in Trion, near the Walker County line, early this morning (Friday).

The Trion Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:48 AM after reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found the house fully involved in flames.

According to the Trion Fire Department, the property was confirmed to be abandoned, which likely prevented any injuries to residents.

Due to the intensity of the fire, several other departments were called to assist. Responding alongside Trion Fire were Hays Correctional, Summerville Fire Department, and Teloga Fire Department, working together to bring the blaze under control.

The specific cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is currently under investigation by authorities. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
