AdventHealth and Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) have entered into a partnership agreement aimed at increasing enrollment in GNTC’s Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program. The collaboration seeks to expand clinical placement opportunities, support workforce development, and foster shared initiatives in nursing education, evidence-based practice, and quality care.

The partnership, which began on March 1, 2025, will strengthen the connection between academic preparation and clinical practice. AdventHealth has committed $829,750 to be disbursed over five years to increase total enrollment in GNTC’s ASN program to 85 students for Academic Year 2026. This funding, managed by the GNTC Foundation, will enable the college to purchase additional technology and hire more faculty.

“Nurses are the heartbeat of health care, and as we look toward the future, it is important that we do everything we can to fortify a pipeline of nurses to who are ready to provide exceptional care at the bedside,” said Isaac Sendros, president and CEO of AdventHealth Georgia and AdventHealth Redmond.

GNTC’s ASN program prepares students to apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of a self-directed, critically thinking, beginning nurse generalist. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), and upon successful completion and receipt of an RN license by the Georgia Board of Nursing (GBON), they may obtain employment in a variety of settings across multiple states.

The partnership was celebrated with a Partnership Signing Ceremony on July 28, held in the Conference Center in Building H on GNTC’s Floyd County Campus in Rome. Representatives from AdventHealth and GNTC Nursing faculty and staff participated in the event.

This collaboration comes at a critical time, as the demand for registered nurses continues to grow. By working together, AdventHealth and GNTC are preparing students for in-demand careers while strengthening the future of healthcare in the region.

In a recent development, all graduates of GNTC’s Associate Degree Nursing program have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) on their first attempt. This marks the third consecutive year in which GNTC graduates have achieved a 100% pass rate, showcasing the college’s commitment to producing highly qualified nursing professionals.

On August 15, representatives from AdventHealth, along with GNTC Nursing faculty and staff from the Accessibilities Services, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and Student Success offices, will offer an ASN orientation at GNTC’s Walker County Campus in Rock Spring. This event will provide students with the necessary information and resources to begin their journey in the ASN program.

In conclusion, the partnership between AdventHealth and Georgia Northwestern Technical College is a significant step towards addressing the growing demand for registered nurses in northwest Georgia. By increasing enrollment in GNTC’s ASN program and fostering shared initiatives in nursing education, both organizations are committed to strengthening the future of healthcare in the region.
