A single vehicle rollover in Floyd County resulted in multiple injuries.
The accident occurred just south of Hennon Drive on Highway 27 at around 3:00pm leaving the vehicle upside down in a ditch.
Two adults, including a pregnant woman, and two children were in the vehicle.
The driver, 24 year old Cody Trimble of Trion was able to get out of the car on his own – but the female passenger, 23 year old Kelsey Wallin, also of Trion, had to be extricated.
Both she and the children – ages one and five – were transported by ambulance to Redmond Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
According to Trooper Shan Burnette – Trimble was cited for both DUI and Driving without a License.

Bond has been set at $310,000 for a Cherokee County, Alabama man charged with murder.
48 year old Ben T. McCool of Gaylesville stands accused of killing Scottie Eugene Abernathy, whose body was pulled from the Chattooga River on January 29th.
McCool had been arrested the day before, on charges of torture/willful abuse of a child, and domestic violence by strangulation in an unrelated case.
He was subsequently charged with murder, following the discovery of the body.
The initial investigation, conducted by the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit and Sheriff's Office, led authorities to suspect that Abernathy had been shot, and his body dumped in the river; the 38 year old victim was reported missing by family members on January 28th.
No information has been released regarding any possible motive in the case, which remains under investigation by the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit.
McCool was once very well known in Chattooga County, having worked as a barber in Trion and Summerville.
He currently remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
A Kingston man was pulled from his car just before it burst into flames after a collision on the East Rome Bypass on Wednesday night.
According to Rome police Lt. Josh Kerce:
Fhadi Rashed-Shukri of Rome was driving a Nissan Altima turning left onto Ga. 53 from the bypass. Timothy Hooker of Rome was driving a Honda Accord traveling west on the bypass.
Hooker ran the red light and hit the Altima head-on, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
Floyd County police officer Amy Nails was the first to respond to the scene. Kerce said Nails noticed the Honda was smoking and pulled Hooker out of his car just before it burst into flames.
Hooker complained of neck and back pain and was taken to Floyd Medical Center where he was treated and released later that night. He was cited for failure to yield.

The City of Rossville had the big job of clearing a wall that collapsed, following recent heavy rains.
Portions of the roof collapsed at the Rossville Charity Bingo Hall on Chickamauga Avenue at around midnight Wednesday, throwing part of the front wall into the street.
Major damage was done to the bingo parlor – whether or not that building will be deemed a total loss has yet to be determined.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

A Conyers man, Desima Terell James, 35, was booked into the Floyd County Jail this week to face theft and forgery charges. Reports said that James filled out a credit application with another man’s name and purchased two dogs and supplies at $4,656.93 from Petland in Rome.
Authorities said that James used a forged driver’s license with the man’s name to make the purchase last December.
He was arrested in Jacksonville, Florida before being brought back to Rome.
James is charged with felony first-degree forgery and theft by deception.

A Rome man was in jail Wednesday without bond after allegedly breaking into a woman’s car and then trying to stop her from calling police. Matias Elijaone Evans age 18 was taken into custody that afternoon and charged with entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a felony.
Evans entered a woman’s car on Conn Street; she found him in her car and called 9-1-1
Evans tried to stop her from making the phone call and grabbed her by the shirt. Once she had dispatchers on the phone, Evans ran off and was soon caught by police.
He is also charged with obstructing persons making emergency phone calls, simple battery, and loitering.
