A Floyd County house fire is suspected to be arson.
According to Rome police reports a man was walking by the residence at 721 Avenue A late Monday night, when he noticed a fire in the front room. No one was home at the time of the blaze but the witness said he thought he saw movement in the residence.
The occupant told police she left the residence on Saturday and returned when the landlord told her of the fire. The occupant said she had two break-ins recently.
