Senator Johnny Isakson is co-sponsoring legislation that would strike down the co-called Individual Mandate in the Affordable Health Care Act. That's the clause that requires citizens to purchase health insurance or face a new tax, starting next year.
Isakson said, "I believe we are going down a dangerous path by requiring individuals to purchase a produce, including health care, and I am proud to stand by my colleges to insure that Americans are not forced to comply with the individual mandate."
The repeal legislation has been dubbed The American Liberty Restoration Act.
