Trion Firefighter Completes Fire Instructor Course

Trion Firefighter, Efrain Hernandez, completed Fire Instructor 1 for the State of Georgia. This 40 hour course was held by GPSTC in Gordon County at Fire Station 1. This program addresses the job performance requirements of the National Fire Protection Agency, 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Qualifications, and Instructor 1. The course prepares participants for planning instruction, using a variety of methods, teaching diverse learners, and evaluating course outcomes. The course also provides guidelines for addressing the critical issues of safety and the legal issues of training and it provides opportunities to participate in application activities.

Town Of Trion Looking For Rec. Director

The Town of Trion is actively seeking someone to be the new Recreation Department leader.  The council approved the resignation of the former Rec Director Rusty Brown at last week’s town council meeting.  Brown had served as Recreation Director for the Town of Trion since June of 2018.
