The National Weather Service issues a wind chill warning when dangerously cold wind chill values are expected or occurring. Here is the latest arrest report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office for Wednesday, December 21, 2022:

Customers in the Fish Hatchery Rd. area may experience low water pressure. Customers in the Sunnydale Rd, Peach Orchard Rd, Hwy 48, and surrounding areas may have no water due to an 8-inch water main break. We expect the repairs to take between two and four hours. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Local author David Hartline is retiring. Mr. Hartline spoke with WZQZ News this week and said that he has made an arrangement with DIRT in Summerville to sell the remaining books he has, and that the books are at a reduced price. Hartline said that he wants the books to be available to anyone that wants a copy for their home library.

Ten Cub Scouts from Pack 38 and 2 Troop 7 members traveled to Chattanooga National Cemetery Sat Dec 17 to participate in the Wreaths Across Chattanooga Ceremony and placement of Remembrance Wreaths for Wreaths Across America Day. Scouts attended the ceremony and then participated placing the Remembrance Wreaths on many graves. As the wreaths were placed scouts stated the veterans name to remember the life they lived.

A twenty-four-year-old Douglasville, Georgia man was arrested in Summerville this week after he was found to be in possession of marijuana. According to a report from the Summerville Police Department, Charisma Rashaun Lindley was booked into the Chattooga County Jail after police found a small amount of marijuana in his possession. While searching Lindley’s vehicle, police found a “half-smoked marijuana cigarette and 3.4 grams of green marijuana” in a backpack inside the vehicle. Lindley was booked into jail Monday morning shortly after 10 AM.

Multi-platinum selling country rock group ALABAMA has announced an all new 2023 tour “ROLL ON 2 NORTH AMERICA.” The tour will include a stop in Atlanta, Georgia, at the award-winning State Farm Arena on Saturday, April 1, 2023. The show will feature very special guest, The Marshall Tucker Band. This will mark the second “Roll On” Tour in the band’s 50+ year history since 1984.

A twenty-nine-year-old inmate at the Floyd County Jail has received multiple additional charges after an incident occurred in which he attacked jail officers. According to Floyd County Jail Records Ernesto Bail Perez of a Coleman Drive Calhoun address allegedly kicked a jail officer (injuring his wrist), and also bit another officer on the hand. Jail reports also state that Perez spit on another officer while making death threats. Perez is being charged with 2 counts of battery, 4 counts of felony obstruction of law enforcement, Simple battery, 2 counts of terroristic threats and acts, unlawful acts in a penal institution, and misdemeanor failure to appear.

The Town of Trion Business Office, Recreation Department, Maintenance Department, Water Department, Sanitation Department, and Gas Department will be closed on Friday and Monday, December 23rd and 26th, 2022 for Christmas Holidays. These departments will also be closed Monday, January 2, 2023, for the New Year’s Holiday.
Garbage routes normally picked up on Friday will be collected on Thursday and routes normally picked up on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday.
After Christmas Holidays, the Business Office and other departments will reopen on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Our reopening date for the New Year’s Holiday will be Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
