Due to Governor Kemp’s latest Executive Order update as of June 11, 2020, Chattooga High School is once again forced to change direction in regards to hosting a traditional graduation ceremony.

A Hilltop Drive woman came to the Summerville Police station this week to report a couple in her yard. The complainant told police that a man and woman were in her yard and the man was walking around with a machete. The complainant said that the woman handed her a note telling her that the couple were the new owners of the place and that the complainant needed to contact them. The complainant told police she was confused because her landlord hadn’t said anything about a new owner and she was current on her rent. The complainant went to the tax office and verified that the owner of the property had not changed. Police said that they would do a report on the incident.

Weather permitting, crews will repair a portion of the I-75 overpass at exit 336 in Dalton. The maintenance work will close the right southbound lane. Motorists should expect delays during the repairs.
Georgia Northwestern Technical College is proud to announce the students on the President’s and Dean’s Lists for the 2020 spring semester. To be eligible for the President’s List, the student must maintain a GPA of 3.8 or higher during the semester with a course load of at least 12 credit hours. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, the student must maintain a GPA of 3.5 to 3.79 during the semester with a course load of at least 12 credit hours.

Motorists traveling Highway 41 near Adairsville can now use a new bridge to cross over Old Highway 41 just south of the city. The replacement bridge was completed in May and built alongside the original bridge.
