Chattooga County Commissioner Andy Allen is scheduled to appear in Chattooga County Magistrate Court today to address a criminal warrant application filed against him by William Wilson of Annville, KY. The application alleges an incident occurred on March 3, 2025. According to the application filed by Wilson, Commissioner Allen “assaulted me by opening my truck door and trying to pull me out of my truck cause he had to wait for me to back in off road – tore my shirt about off me.” The application claims the alleged assault stemmed from a disagreement over a traffic delay. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for 2:00 PM this afternoon at the Courthouse Annex, located at 120 Cox Street in Summerville. The hearing will determine if sufficient evidence exists to issue a criminal warrant for Commissioner Allen in connection with the alleged assault. Due to a potential conflict of interest, Chattooga County Magistrate Judge Tracy Maddux has recused himself from the case. A judge from another jurisdiction will preside over the Probable Cause Hearing. The outcome of the hearing will significantly impact Commissioner Allen’s legal standing and potential criminal charges.

The City of Summerville and the Summerville Parks and Recreation Department have announced the grand opening for the new city pickleball courts coming up this Saturday, May 10th.
