Woman Arrested By GSP For Shoplifting At Walmart

A Chattooga County woman, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol following a shoplifting incident at the Walmart in Trion. Troopers were dispatched to the scene after attending to other calls in the area, and upon their arrival, Tiffany Nicole Wade, a 42-year-old, was found in the Asset Protection (AP) office of the store. According to reports, Wade allegedly entered the Walmart and filled bags with merchandise that did not correspond to her online order before attempting to leave the store with the stolen items. After realizing she had been spotted, Wade returned to the store, where a Walmart employee confronted her. The employee promptly contacted Chattooga E-911, requesting law enforcement assistance. Law enforcement officials arrived on the scene and apprehended Wade without incident. She was subsequently transported to the Chattooga County Jail. According to the Sheriff’s report, the total value of the merchandise stolen was approximately $59.00.

Man Charged After Traffic Stop On Highway 48

A 25-year-old man was arrested on December 7th for driving without a license and failure to maintain his lane on Highway 48. Jason Alexander Ardon was taken into custody by a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputy after exhibiting dangerous driving behavior that drew the attention of law enforcement. According to the arrest report, the deputy observed Ardon’s white Ram 1500 with Texas tags, traveling west on Highway 48 at approximately 7:34 PM. The truck was seen drifting into the oncoming lane of traffic and onto the shoulder of the road, causing an audible alert from the rumble strips. The deputy followed the vehicle for over a mile, noting multiple instances of lane violations before initiating a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 48 and Highway 157. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy requested Ardon’s driver’s license. Ardon reportedly informed the officer that he did not possess a driver’s license and had never held one in any state. A check through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) confirmed that he had no driving record in either Georgia or Texas. Ardon was subsequently placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Chattooga County Jail.

Man Charged After Being Accused Of Stealing A Truck In Armuchee

A Dalton man faces charges following his arrest on Turner Bend Road in Coosa this past week.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

35-year-old William Thomas Love gained access to a 1996 GMC van on December 7 on Haywood Valley Road in Armuchee.

It was believed he was about to steal from the vehicle but he ran away when police arrived.

Love is charged with entering an auto, criminal trespass, criminal attempt to commit a misdemeanor, obstruction of officers, and a parole violation.

Chattooga Democrats Meeting Monday
