An employment agency will be hosting a hiring event today (Tuesday, November 17, 2020) from 10 AM until 1 PM at the Georgia Department of Labor’s LaFayette Career Center. The event will be a drive-thru job fair. The employment agency is seeking packers, general labors, warehouse, forklift, assembly and extrusion skill sets. The Georgia Department Labor’s Career Center is at 200 West Villanow Street in LaFayette.

National Utility Scam Awareness Week is November 16 – 20, and Georgia Power is joining other electrical, water and natural gas utilities across the country to share simple tips to help customers avoid common scams.

Georgia gas prices increased at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $1.96 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average is 4 cents more than a week ago, 3 cents less than last month, and 46 cents less than this time last year.

The Chattooga County Young Farmers hosted the 6th Annual Pig Project Show and Auction on Monday, November 9th at the Chattooga Ag Center. Nine 4-H and FFA members exhibited 18 pigs at the show.
