Step back in time and immerse yourself in the enchanting holiday spirit at the Chief Vann House State Historic Site. This December, join Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites for Candlelight Tours, where the historic Cherokee-built plantation house, originally constructed in the 1800s, will be adorned with festive boughs, bows, and greenery inspired by a traditional 19th-century Moravian Christmas celebration.

The tours will take place on Friday, December 13th, and Saturday, December 14th, from 5 to 9 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive by 8:30 p.m. to fully enjoy the experience, as the flickering candles will be extinguished promptly at 9 p.m. As guests wander through the beautifully decorated rooms illuminated by the warm glow of over 100 candles, they will be treated to live music sponsored by the Friends of the Chief Vann House.

The magic doesn’t end with the house tour; attendees can savor a cup of hot cider and indulge in delicious Moravian cookies while exploring the Vann Kitchen exhibit and the 19th Century Cherokee Farmstead exhibit, both aglow in candlelight.

Tickets for the Candlelight Tours can be purchased at the door for just $8 per person. Please note that there are no prior ticket sales or reservations, and the event will proceed rain or shine.
