To accommodate the expected increase in holiday traffic, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) will suspend lanes closures on Georgia interstates, major state routes and roads near major shopping centers, malls, or districts beginning 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, until 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, with the aim of improving traffic flow during the Thanksgiving holiday period.

Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU) opened applications for the Seventh Annual Idea Leap Grant competition in which the credit union will award a total of $225,000 in grants to local small business owners across its 17-county service area, which includes Chattooga County. Once again, TVFCU will host separate competitions in the Chattanooga, Ocoee and Northwest Georgia areas, awarding grants between $10,000 and $30,000 to entrepreneurs.
