A Chattooga County man was arrested last week in Floyd County following what authorities describe as a domestic dispute where he allegedly shoved his girlfriend’s head through a wall. Cody Scott Collins, of Summerville, was taken into custody after reports detailed an altercation stemming from an argument over Collins’ attempt to stay with his ex-wife.

According to police reports, the victim told officers she had been “at the lake” and returned home to discover Collins had tried to stay with his ex-wife the previous night. An argument reportedly ensued at that point. The victim stated she then went to grab Collins’ clothes to throw them, at which point he allegedly began to repeatedly shove her to the floor. During the altercation, the victim reportedly suffered a serious injury to her foot.

Reports indicate Collins then shoved the victim’s head through a wall, allegedly stating, “It was because you tried to hit me.” The victim later told police that while she did swing at Collins, she missed.

Police noted the victim suffered visible injuries to the right side of her head and face.

Collins faces multiple charges, including aggravated battery, battery, simple battery, and criminal trespass.
