Chattooga County residents will see an increase in fees at the Chattooga County Transfer Station, effective Monday, September 8, 2025. Commissioner Andy Allen announced the upcoming fee adjustments, which will affect users of the Stockade Road facility in Summerville.

The new fee structure is set to take effect at the start of next week. Residents are advised to prepare for the updated costs when utilizing the transfer station services.

It is important for residents to note that these fee changes apply solely to the Transfer Station, located on Stockade Road. These adjustments do not affect the dumpster convenience centers that are available throughout the county for the disposal of household garbage. The convenience centers will continue to operate under their existing terms for regular household waste.

The Chattooga County Transfer Station typically handles larger items, bulk waste, and materials that cannot be disposed of at the smaller convenience centers. Users of the transfer station are encouraged to visit the Chattooga County government website or contact the Commissioner’s office directly for the new fee schedule once it is made public, to ensure they are aware of the updated costs before their next visit.
