A Chattooga County woman was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart, but fled the scene. Later, deputies arrested the woman during a domestic call on James Street in Summerville.
The investigation began on September 24, 2025, when Deputy G. Whitworth responded to a report of shoplifters who had left in a black Ford SUV. A witness saw a white female, identified later as 39-year-old Sabrina Renee Bolton, placing items into her purse and leaving the store with a male and a child wearing a stolen “Minecraft” jacket.
The stolen items were worth around $110 and included jackets, a remote, a dog collar, and a tire inflator. To identify her, deputies checked the Walmart register, discovering that Bolton had paid for some items using a PayPal card in her name.
Later that night, around 11:29 PM, deputies were called to a domestic incident at a home on James St. While there, they noticed a black Ford Escape in the driveway matching the suspect vehicle description. When officers spoke to Bolton, she confessed to stealing the items and claimed her male companion, Christopher Henderson, was unaware of her actions.
Bolton then retrieved several stolen items, including jackets and a dog collar, valued at approximately $75, which will be returned to Walmart. She was arrested for Theft by Shoplifting and taken to the Chattooga County Jail. The investigation into the other people involved remains closed as Bolton accepted full responsibility for the crime. The arresting officer was Deputy G. Whitworth, and the case number is 2025-09-35794.
