For over fifty years the Pettit Family has operated Erwin-Pettit Funeral Home in the Pennville Community in Chattooga County. Starting today a new owner takes over at the funeral home.
Erwin-Pettit Funeral Home has announced that Jamey and Karen Coffman have purchased the business and it will now be known as Coffman Funeral Home – Petitt Chapel.
Jamey and Karen Coffman are longtime residents of Chattooga County and active in the community. They have two sons, Treyton and Barrett Coffman. Jamey has been serving families in the funeral home business for over 20 years in the Floyd, Chattooga and Bartow County areas. His wife, Karen, works as a pharmacy technician and plans to take an active role in the funeral home business. They are members of Four Mile Baptist Church in Summerville where Karen serves as pianist and Jamey serves as Sunday School Superintendent and Assistant Church Clerk and is a Deacon.
Jamey says that the operation of the funeral home is seen as a ministry not just a job.
