A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia. The Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM EST Saturday for North and Central Georgia due to gusty winds, low humidity, and dry fuels. Winds will be from the northwest at 15 to 20 MPH, with gusts over 25 MPH. Relative humidity will be between 20 and 25 percent, and temperatures will range from the lower 60s to upper 70s. Due to these conditions, any fires could spread quickly, so outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
Commissioner Andy Allen encourages all residents to stay alert and follow fire safety guidelines to prevent future fires. Andy Allen, Chattooga County Commissioner.
