Floyd Medical Center and Coosa Diagnostic Center have reached an agreement under which Coosa will provide outpatient diagnostic imaging services to Floyd patients at a new Floyd outpatient facility located at Coosa’s current site on Riverbend Drive. The new outpatient unit will be part of Floyd’s Imaging Services Department and will be called Floyd Coosa Diagnostic Center.
Under the agreement, Coosa will provide the personnel, equipment and supplies needed to provide imaging services to patients who choose to obtain outpatient imaging services at the new unit. These services will include bone density scans, computed tomography, fluoroscopy, MRI, screening mammography, nuclear imaging, ultrasound and x-ray.
“We believe this will provide a tremendous benefit to our patients,” said Greg Polley, Floyd Vice President for Managed Care and Network Services. “They will now have flexibility when needing to schedule appointments, especially in an urgent situation.”
Polley said Coosa Diagnostic Center’s reputation for service played a major role in the decision.
“The center’s location is ideal, and the facility is great,” he said. “Even more important, though, is that they share Floyd’s commitment to quality service. Our imaging staff is known for providing excellent care, and being able to supplement that care is a key component of this agreement.”
Once the agreement is finalized in the Fall, patients who choose to receive imaging services at Floyd Coosa Diagnostic Center will be registered as Floyd patients and will be billed by Floyd. Floyd will pay Coosa a fair market fee for providing the imaging services to the Center’s patients.
“We’re very excited about what this means for patients in Rome and Northwest Georgia,” said Richard Gray, President and owner of Coosa Diagnostic Center. “We share a vision that is focused on delivering outstanding care. Now that care comes with even greater access for the people we serve.”
Floyd Coosa Diagnostic Center will be located at Coosa’s current site at 16 Riverbend Drive in Rome.
