Georgia gas prices have reversed a downward trend. Drivers now pay an average of $2.90 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average is 1 cent more than a week ago, 1 cent less than a month ago, and 7 cents less than last year.

It costs drivers an average price of $43.50 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Georgians now pay a little over $1.00 less to fill up at the pump than a year ago.

“Gas prices in Georgia have been nudging up since we rang in the New Year,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “The main culprit appears to be a higher price for crude oil, which moved to the mid-$70s.”
