Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is collaborating with Georgia Power to offer an Electrical Lineworker Program at the Polk County Campus in Rockmart. This 12-week program intends to provide participants with the necessary skills and certifications for a career in electrical linework.
Classes will take place from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, covering important topics like workplace skills and lineworker techniques. Graduates can earn an Electrical Lineworker Certificate, a restricted Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), First Aid/CPR/AED certification, and an OSHA 10-Hour card. Applicants must be at least 18, have a valid driver’s license, and meet other physical and educational criteria. The program fee is $7,500, and applying does not guarantee acceptance. Application Requirements:
To be considered for admission into the Electrical Lineworker Program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be 18 years old at the start of training.
- Complete the online Lineworker Program application.
- Valid Driver’s License: You must provide a copy of a valid driver’s license.
- Class A CDL Eligibility: You should have the ability to earn a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Education: You must provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
- TABE Assessment: You must achieve an NRS Level 4 or better on the TABE Assessment.
