The Georgia Governor’s Office of Student Achievement has pulled a list of underperforming schools from the organization’s website, saying that they are reevaluating the data that was used to determine which schools were on the list.
Two Chattooga County Schools were on the original list before it was pulled from the agency’s website late last week. Chattooga County School Supt. Michelle Heile told WZQZ News last week that both of the schools were just a few points below the minimum standard to avoid being put on the underperforming list. The superintendent is hopeful that both LeRoy Massey Elementary School and Summerville Middle School will be removed from that list once the state validates existing data.
According to GOSA’s website: GOSA is currently validating additional data to ensure accuracy of the Promise Scholarship school list. The list has been removed from the website while validation is underway. A verified list will be posted as soon as validation is completed.
