The Trion Fire Department presented Life Saving Valor Awards at a ceremony at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center for a residential structure fire that occurred in Trion on January 10, 2024. The home was over 60% involved in the fire and had zero visibility due to all the smoke. All emergency personnel involved worked as a team to successfully rescue and save the life of a local resident.

Recipients were:
Charles Hubbard – Chattooga County E-911 communications supervisor
Katelyn Mathis – Chattooga County E-911 communications officer
Clyde Patterson – Paramedic Atrium Health Floyd EMS
Noah Davenport (not pictured) – Paramedic Atrium Health Floyd EMS
David Lowe – Assistant Chief Trion Fire
Morgan Laney – Firefighter Trion Fire
Justin Rhinehart (not pictured) – Summerville Fire
There were also 2 firefighters (not pictured) from Hays that were presented with this award as well.
The Trion Fire Department wants to send a very special thank you to Trion City council member, Dustin Rosser and family, retired Fire Chief of Trion Steve Rosser and family, Chattooga County EMA Director Pam Vaughn, Chattooga County E-911 Director Fran Hamilton, Hays State Prison Warden Josh Jones, and Hays Fire Chief Jason Starkey forĀ  supporting local emergency personnel during this time.
